Songs of Deliverance

I don't know what you are walking through today. What I do know is that Christ perfects His children in the "school of suffering." The past year and half has been one such season for me. Some of my trials include: my father suffering a major heart attack, multiple personal diagnoses and health issues with more questions than answers, and depression. There have been many other small things that have culminated into countless "why's" and a temptation to despair.

But God.

Oh His boundless mercy and grace! "No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Psalm 84:11

He has helped me better understand His sovereignty, mercy, and love for us. His plans are so much higher than what we can understand and He uses suffering to help us depend fully on Him! If He is withholding something from us, giving it to us, or choosing to allow it, it is for His good and our glory. We can trust, and yes, even rejoice in that! We serve a good God and a loving Father who knows how to give good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11)! Rest. Lean on His breast and joyfully trust, even while sorrow is tearing your heart into pieces.

He is good.

Music has a unique ability to connect us with the Father and move our soul to worship and trust. It speaks our pain for us when we don't have the words. It makes us brave by reminding us who lives in us. It leads us to repentance and aligns our hearts with the Father's. In "No Longer Slaves" the artist sings about being surrounded by songs of deliverance. Here are some of my songs of deliverance. I hope they encourage you in your fight today.
